We have exciting upgrades coming to the messaging user experience within the AllVoices platform to announce.
Previously, the admin had to click on the “Messages” tab of a given report to start a new message or continue an existing conversation. Now, when accessing a report, instead you’ll see a docked message window in the bottom right corner of the page has replaced the “Messages” tab.
New View: (Messages tab removed, docked message feature added)
Within this new experience, admin and reporter users can also take advantage of text formatting including: bold, italic, underline, bullet lists, and numbered lists.
We are also very excited to add message attachments for both admin and reporter users. Your reporter users will be able to add file attachments to support or add more detail to their reports, and your admins will be able to send through any files that may be helpful or provide clarity that may not be in text format to the reporter users.
Why the Change?
We’ve received feedback that it’d be helpful if the contents of the report were visible alongside the message. That way, it’s easier to reference the contents of the report as you are responding to the message on the same screen. Messaging is a core feature of AllVoices, so we decided to bring it front and center when viewing a report.
