Creating Subject Groups
On the Investigation Plan Template only, you can also create Subject Groups.
By default, the investigation workflow has three subject groups:
-
Complainants
-
Respondents
-
Witnesses
Each subject group also has an associated interview template with questions tailored to that group:
-
Complainant Interview
-
Respondent Interview
-
Witness Interview
Editing AllVoices’ default subject groups
To edit the default subject groups:
-
Edit header text on the Investigation Plan itself and/or
-
Rename the subject group name as it appears throughout the workflow
Editing the Field Header
-
Click into the field and update the header text
To rename the subject group throughout the workflow:
-
Click on the subject group icon and enter desired plural and singular labels
IMPORTANT: When editing an existing subject group, choose a label/name that has a similar meaning as it will be linked to the associated interview template. For example, renaming Witness → Bystander will also rename the Witness Interview Template → Bystander Interview Template
If the meaning is not similar, it's best to create a new subject group altogether. This will generate a fresh interview template.
Create a new subject group
-
Click + add field
-
Select + Person(s)
-
Configure the subject group in the modal
This will prompt a modal where you can configure the subject group:
Note: Creating a new subject group will also generate an associated interview template with a default set of questions, which can then be edited.
For example, if you create a new subject group called Managers, a Manager Interview template will populate by default and can be customized under Investigation Templates
Deleting a subject group
Deleting a subject group will also delete the associated interview template and cannot be undone.
Before deleting the group, be sure that you no longer need the associated template.
Publish changes
To update the template, you must Publish changes in order for them to go live.
Published changes will only impact new investigations going forward.
